Description: With the country's male population fighting World War II on two fronts, more than six million women flooded the country's war production plants. They got the job done.
This poster shows one such "Rosie the Riveter". In this illustration, a woman dressed in blue denim work shirt is rolling up the sleeve on her right arm. A war plant I.D. badge is pinned to her collar and her hair is gathered up in a kerchief.
An interesting website dedicated to these women is found at the Rosie the Riveter Trust (opens in new window).
