The Purpose of OSWG

Now in its seventh year, the Oklahoma State Webmanagers Group (OSWG) was founded in September of 1997. The group is sponsored and coordinated by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries (a state agency) for the benefit of other public sector programs.

The membership of OSWG is quite diverse, and includes public information specialists, graphic artists, programmers, web developers, database administrators and persons assigned to positions not even directly related to information technology duties.

OSWG members have different levels of expertise, and almost always have other responsibilities in addition to their web-related duties. The group encompasses both those who are advanced in the art of web development, and those with little or no "webwork" experience whatsoever. Our philosophy is this: there is room for everyone at OSWG.
